“Success is not an accident. Success is actually a choice. Are the habits you have today on par with the dreams you have tomorrow?”

Alan Stein

“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder”

Thomas Carlyle

Reflection: A person that has goals can see him or her in a good position where he or she is heading for life like a boat with the rudder it can steer to any direction the person has to go. Without your goals you’ll be lost and won’t know how to move from where you’re at.

Reflection 2: There are 3 people that have had achieved their goal by setting their minds to it since they were little. 1. A guy who can do tricks with fire and balance it very well. 2. A bean shooter he shoots rocks at things with a sling shot since he was 10 because they wouldn’t let him use a gun to hint for their food. 3. There are girls who can walk on top of an airplane they had set that goal when they first saw it on TV back in England. By seeing yourself accomplish that goal in the future can inspire you to keep on trying.

Sophocles

Reflection: this quote means that it’s better to play a clean game and loose rather than play dirty and win because after all you didn’t actually win or tried your best to win. It’s better to try something and be proud and have pride on what you did than to cheat.

Forgive

“When a deep injury is done with us, we never recover until we forgive.”

Alan Paton

Forgive: to stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone for an offense, flaw or mistake.

Reflection: What this means is that if you know a person that had done something wrong and you’re really angry at them, you should forgive them because it’s better to stay friends other than being mad at each other a dumb reason. You may need that person in the future.

Stand alone

“Dare to stand alone.”

Thomas S. Monson

Reflection: If your friends are doing something wrong and ask you to be involved don’t do it because you’re not going to risk yourself just be with them or fit in. If you choose the wrong with them they’ll be in trouble and you too since you had decided to join what they were doing. It’s better to be alone and choose the right other than be with a bad group and get in trouble for something not worth it.

“A promise must never be broken”

Alexander Hamilton

Reflection: If you promise someone that means you’ll give your priority to that promise. Why promise something that you won’t do. Some people take it very serious. A promise is some basically assuring the person that you will do exactly as what they asked you to do, and eventually you’ll have to do it because if you don’t the person won’t trust you ever again!

They’re right

Just because the choices that come up and your friends  chooses the wrong you don’t have to follow them if you know that’s not what you want because then the person whose going to end up failing is you for thinking that decision you made would make you seem “cool”.

Character

“Character is higher than intellect”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reflection: Character shows what kind of person you are. If you’re a smart person and you’re a good person you’ll get along with mostly anyone, but if you’re just acting smart and always trying to be rude no one will like you. It won’t matter if you’re smarter than other people because they’ll know that your personality is dry and dull.
