Duties and responsibilities:
A licensed practical
nurse in much of the United States and most Canadian provinces is a nurse who
cares for people who are sick, injured, convalescent, or disabled. LPNs used to
be under the direction of registered nurses and are now under physicians. They
monitor patient’s health – for example, by checking their blood pressure. Administrates
basic patient care, including changing bandages, and inserting catheters. They
also provide for the basic comfort of patients, such as helping them bathe or
dress.

They require applicants to
possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. They also need to be in a
state approved program. Available at technical schools, community colleges, and
hospitals. LPN programs typically last one year and result in a diploma.
Reflection:
I would like to be a licensed
practical nurse because it sounds really easy taking care of the person and
provide for their needs.
