Duties and
Responsibilities: Works
under the direction of the director of communications or dispatch supervisor.
They coordinate all ambulance transports and emergencies. They assist with
answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls. Also they’re Responsible for
checking and maintaining email communications during each shift.
Salary: $41,000
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum
6 months dispatch experience.
Reflection: I wouldn't like to be an ambulance
dispatcher because you get to receive calls and it puts you in that spot where
you have to keep them calm and listen very closely on what they’re saying. It seems
so stressful sometimes.
